At Ashwell Medical Centre, we are fully committed to maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality for all patients. Any information disclosed to a member of our team whether a doctor, nurse, receptionist, or any other staff member will be handled with strict confidentiality in accordance with professional, ethical, and legal requirements.
This policy applies equally to all patients, including those under the age of 16. No personal information will be shared with any external party, including parents, relatives, teachers, or care professionals, without the patient’s consent.
Confidential information will only be disclosed without consent in exceptional circumstances where there is a serious and immediate risk of harm to the patient or to another individual.
Patients who have any concerns or wish to seek clarification regarding confidentiality are encouraged to speak with a member of staff, who will be pleased to assist.
A private consultation room is available within the reception area for any patient who wishes to discuss sensitive or confidential matters discreetly.
