Violence Policy

Ashwell Medical Centre – Zero Tolerance Policy

At Ashwell Medical Centre, we are committed to providing high-quality care in a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. Our staff will always treat patients and their representatives with courtesy and respect, and we kindly request that the same courtesy is shown to all members of our practice team.

The NHS operates a strict Zero Tolerance Policy towards any form of violence, aggression, or abuse. In line with this policy, Ashwell Medical Centre reserves the right to remove any patient from our practice list with immediate effect if their behaviour poses a risk to staff, other patients, or any individuals on the premises.

We will not tolerate any form of aggressive or abusive behaviour whether verbal, physical, or otherwise. Any incident of this nature may result in the individual being reported to the Police and removed from our Register of Patients.

For the purposes of this policy, violence includes actual or threatened physical harm, as well as verbal abuse that creates fear for a person’s safety. Should removal from the practice list be necessary, the patient will be informed in writing, and the incident will be recorded in their medical records, including the circumstances that led to the decision.

Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and respectful environment for all.
